Get to know Tyler
Tyler was raised by his single mother in Orange County, California, and spent much of his childhood at the beach. He then spent two years in Canada where he taught and served people near Montreal. While attending BYU he met his wife Amy and they’ve raised their three children in the Provo/Orem area. With a son on a mission in Korea and a daughter at Utah State, they’re enjoying the last few years with their youngest daughter and their dog (the true favorite child) at home. Tyler enjoys traveling with family and friends, mountain biking, triathlons, hiking in beautiful places, golfing, and although he skis, he identifies as a snowboarder – please try not to hold it against him. Tyler recently competed in the World Bodysurfing Championship in Oceanside.
As a Wealth Management Advisor, Tyler works with families to identify and understand their values and make aligned financial decisions which contribute to their happiness. Financial security is one of several key drivers of happiness. Although its definition varies from person to person, Financial Security generally means having enough income and assets to cover expenses both now and in the future. At some point, every person’s earned income will stop; for most, that will mean retirement, for some a death or disability may stop their earned income prematurely. Using strategic efficiencies, such as compound interest, tax-managed investments, and insuring incomes, Tyler helps families to magnify their financial stewardship. Through a careful understanding of the family’s goals and current situation, he works to reach alignment between their intentions and their actions.
Sometimes the memories of today are worth more than the dreams of tomorrow, so he advises on striking a proper balance to help families achieve both, encouraging them to create the legacy by which they will be remembered.
Since 2005, Tyler has been delivering an experience to clients that is comprehensive, individual, and one that evolves as families do. Families choose to engage with Tyler because they want to be guided through a strategic plan, where they can ask questions, and be asked questions–perhaps ones they haven’t thought of before.
After finishing his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University in Business Management with an emphasis in Finance, Tyler continued his education through his graduate degree from The American College by obtaining his Masters in Financial Services. This advanced education allows Tyler to be able to customize comprehensive financial planning strategies for his clients. Thus far, he has received CLU®, ChFC®, CASL®, and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional certification designations.
